This Cookie Notice explains how Map2Close Inc. ("Map2Close", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, including heyqmo.com, the Qmo web application and the Qmo browser extension (together, the "Sites"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal information these technologies collect.
What cookies are
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. They help a site work, remember your preferences, and show how it is used. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by our service providers and partners, and can be used to recognize your device when it visits other websites.
Cookies we use
[TBD: Youssef to confirm the actual tools and cookies. Delete any row that does not apply.]
| Type | What it does | Who sets it | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you signed in, secures your session, balances load and remembers your cookie choices. The Sites cannot work without them | Map2Close; [TBD: hosting and authentication providers] | No |
| Functionality | Remembers your settings and preferences, such as layout and language | Map2Close | Yes, where required by law |
| Analytics | Shows how the Sites are used and performing, such as pages visited and features used | [TBD: e.g. Google Analytics, PostHog] | Yes, where required by law |
| Advertising | Measures our marketing campaigns and shows our ads on other sites, on the marketing website only | [TBD: e.g. LinkedIn Insight Tag, or delete this row] | Yes, where required by law |
We do not use advertising cookies inside the Qmo web application or browser extension.
Other technologies
- Browser storage. The Qmo web application and browser extension use local storage in your browser to keep you signed in, cache settings, and support the live coach cards. This storage is essential to how they work.
- Pixel tags. Our marketing emails may contain pixel tags (also called web beacons or clear GIFs) that tell us whether an email was opened or a link clicked.
- Session replay. [TBD: keep only if used.] We may use [provider] to record how users interact with the Sites (clicks, scrolls and page changes) to find and fix usability problems. We configure it to mask text you type and call content.
Your choices
- Cookie banner and settings. When you first visit our marketing website, a banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose which non-essential cookies to allow. You can change your choices at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer. Where the law requires consent, including in Europe, the UK and Quebec, we set non-essential cookies only after you agree.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Sites may not work, and you may need to sign in each time.
- Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of advertising cookies where the law requires.
- Industry opt-outs. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (youradchoices.ca) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org).
- Images. Most email clients let you block images from loading, which also blocks pixel tags.
Choices apply to each browser and device separately. If you opt out of targeted advertising, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Notice as the technologies we use change. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
